The puzzle, not the lookalikes
What is Murdle?
Murdle is an association-grid murder mystery, not a word-guessing game. Its recurring cast, daily browser case and print collections share a deduction format but are separate ways to play.
The actual genre
Murdle is a murder-mystery logic puzzle. You get a short case, suspects, weapons, places and evidence. Some cases add witness statements with a liar. Complete the associations in the grid, then apply the crime clue to select the murderer and their matched weapon and location. G. T. Karber started publishing the daily in 2022, with a nod to Wordle's once-a-day habit and to Cluedo's cast of objects.
The about text on murdle.com credits a generator called Moriarty and jokes that it can plan a huge number of murders a minute. I treat that as the author's description of the daily pipeline, not as a promise I can inspect.
Names people mix up
| Name | What it is |
|---|---|
| Murdle | G. T. Karber's daily puzzle and book series. Played at murdle.com. |
| Murdoku | A different logic-grid puzzle. Not a mode inside Murdle. |
| Myrdle | A third-party app. Not the official Murdle client. |
Profile Books' author biography says Karber grew up in Arkansas, studied mathematics and English literature at the University of Arkansas, and earned an MFA at USC's School of Cinematic Arts. A development announcement is not evidence that a television adaptation has premiered; this guide does not advertise an unverified release date or streaming platform.

Questions and answers
Is Murdle made by AI?
The daily is produced by the author's own generator, which the site names Moriarty. That is not the same claim as 'a chatbot wrote today's prose.' I have not seen Karber publish a model name beyond that.
Is it only for adults?
The main daily is written for general readers. Murdle Jr. is the line with stated age ranges. I keep the two separate on the junior page.
